17 Desember, Jakarta Blues Festival 2011 Siap Digelar

Jakarta Blues Festival 2011 yang bertajuk “Keepin The Blues Alive: In Blues We Trust” akan siap diselenggarakan pada tanggal 17 Desember 2011 di Istora Senayan, Jakarta Selatan. Sederet musisi lokal dan internasional akan memeriahkan festival ini, termasuk legenda blues dunia asal Inggris, John Mayall.
Selain John Mayall, Jakarta Blues Festival 2011 juga akan dimeriahkan oleh musisi internasional yang lain seperti Shun Kikuta (Jepang), Kim Mok Kyung (Korea Selatan), Soulmate (India), Jessica Manuputty (Belanda), Kara Grainger (Australia), dan Bopomofo (Taiwan). Untuk jajaran musisi Tanah Air, akan ada ikon blues Indonesia yang baru memulai kiprahnya yaitu Sandhy Sondoro dan Gugun Blues Selter.

Abdee ‘Slank’ & friends, Endah & Rhesa, Andre Harihandoyo and Sonic People, Adrian Adioetomo, Balawan & Friends, Ladies in a Blues Band (Yuyun & Oppie Andaresta), Inablues All Star, Blackout, SNR Band, Ore, Ginda and The WhiteFlowers, Trias Acustica, Krisna & the Alter Ego, dan D’bluesbusters adalah deretan musisi lokal yang siap mengibur para pecandu musik blues di Jakarta.

Festival yang diselenggarakan oleh Djarum Super Jakarta International Blues Festival (DSJBF) ini menjelaskan, legenda John Mayall dipastikan menjadi sosok yang paling dinanti oleh masyarakat pecinta blues di Tanah Air. karakter John yang memiliki idealisme blues yang sangat tinggi, membuat pihak penyelenggara tidak ingin mematok harga yang mahal.

Tiket Jakarta Blues Festival 2011 dibandrol dengan harga Rp 150 ribu (kelas festival), khusus untuk pertunjukan spesial John Mayall, harga tiket kelas festival naik menjadi Rp 200 ribu. Untuk tiket kelas gold (Rp 300 ribu), dan VIP (Rp 500 ribu).
Meskipun ajang ini rutin diselenggarakan tiap tahun, namun masih cukup banyak yang menyayangkan kalau festival ini hanya digelar selama satu hari mulai dari pukul 11.00 Wib hingga dini hari.

Blues legend John Mayall to perform at Jakarta Blues Festival

British blues legend John Mayall will be the main performer at the 4th Jakarta International Blues Festival at Istora Senayan on Dec. 17.

“John Mayall is a legend. Thanks to him we can become familiar with the blues,” the committee chairman of the festival, Oding, said on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.

This year’s festival is themed “Keepin’ the Blues Alive: In Blues We Trust”. It will feature local blues artists such as Gugun Blues Shelter, Abdee of Slank band, Balawan, Sandhy Sondoro and many more.

Gugun Blues Shelter is expected to be the opening act for John Mayall’s performance, the tickets of which range from Rp 150,000 to Rp 500,000.

The festival will also feature a number of international blues musicians such as Kara Grainger (Australia/US), Shun Kikuta (Japan), Kim Mok Kyung (South Korea), Soulmate (India) and Bopomofo (Taiwan).
